Donald Trump has been spending his time post-presidency the same way he did during his presidency, which is by coming up with insults to be used on social media. The only difference is, since Trump has been banned by Twitter and other platforms, he is now coming up with tweets that can be sent out by his aides on their accounts. When Trump tried to tweet using the POTUS account after January 6th, Twitter stepped in the way and took his posts down. The question now is whether they will keep doing that if Trump is so obviously getting his message out through Stephen Miller, Jared Kushner, or whoever else.
According to the Daily Beast, Trump saw the vote to reelect Representative Liz Cheney to her leadership position as key in figuring out whether he has a future in the Republican Party. Cheney was one of the ten Republicans in the House who voted with the Democrats to impeach Trump after the Capitol insurrection. That vote took place Wednesday and it was an ugly outcome for Donald Trump. In a secret ballot, GOP members voted overwhelmingly, 145-61, to reinstate Cheney to her leadership position. This should come as yet another gut punch to the twice-impeached one-term ex-president.
