Failed former President Donald Trump is likely to be indicted again this summer, this time over charges from the state of Georgia. The Fulton County District Attorney, Fani Willis, has requested additional security between July 11th and September 1st for when she announces charging decisions related to Trump's alleged attempts to overturn the 2020 election result in the state. Legal experts and former prosecutors have said the request makes it almost certain that Trump will be indicted. The case in Georgia is likely going to be seen as much more serious than the one out of New York related to the Stormy Daniels hush money payment. It is unclear how the charges will affect Trump's political aspirations. While it may make him an unappealing candidate in the general election, many of his supporters may be energized by his arrest, feeling he is being targeted for political reasons rather than for the alleged crimes he has committed. The case highlights the importance of allowing the justice system to operate without political interference and for evidence to be the only basis for any charges.
