Former Vice President Mike Pence was asked whether he would support another run by Donald Trump and he didn’t say yes. Instead, Pence responded, “well, there might be somebody else I’d prefer more,” which he followed up with a goofy smile getting the audience to golf clap. Of course, Mike is referring to a presidential run of his own. Pence apparently wants to become the leader of the party that tried to get him hanged at the Capitol on January 6, 2021. This is being presented as another instance of Pence turning on Trump but it’s extremely tepid for someone who got thrown under the bus as badly as he did. Predictably, the former VP appears far behind Trump and Ron DeSantis in 2024 polls and betting markets.
