An armed Trump supporter wearing a clown wig was arrested over the weekend at a Dairy Queen for threatening to kill Democrats. The man is Jan Stawovy. He’s 61 years old and from the Pittsburgh area. Police were called on Stawovy and he was arrested. They found a loaded .40 caliber handgun and ammunition on him. Jan said he was “working to restore Trump to president king of the United States” and that he had the gun to “kill Democrats and liberals.” Clearly, the fact that this person is a Trump supporter isn’t the only reason that led him to end up armed at a Dairy Queen wearing a clown wig; mental illness appears to be playing a major role in this situation as well. However, it still raises the question: What is it about Trumpism that appeals to so many people who are suffering from these types of mental health challenges?
