Trump Telling Team He Must Be President to Avoid Criminal Charges!

It is becoming increasingly clear that Donald Trump will be running for president again and one of the reasons he plans to do so is to avoid criminal charges. According to a report from Rolling Stone, Trump in recent months has told associates that the protections from prosecution he would enjoy as a sitting president are “front of mind” for determining whether to launch another campaign. It is also believed that the former president will make his declaration before the 2022 midterms, perhaps as early as September. Trump’s plan actually has some chance of working and shielding him from charges. Prosecutors in Georgia and at the federal level who are weighing whether to indict the ex-POTUS may consider it too political of a move to make if the 2024 campaign is already underway. Trump certainly has other reasons for running for president again, like to avenge his 2020 loss to Joe Biden, but avoiding the possibility of prison time is clearly another contributing factor.
