Donald Trump has been making his rounds in conservative media lately, trying to capitalize on the turbulent withdrawal of Americans from Afghanistan. Even though Trump promised to leave the Middle East but never got around to it, he thinks it’s fair game to criticize Biden for the drawdown not going according to plan. Trump managed to go too far with his criticisms on Fox News over the weekend, as he argued that his administration killing ISIS founder Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi was more important than Barack Obama ordering the raid on 9/11 mastermind Osama Bin Laden. Trump, especially as a New Yorker, should know better than to downplay Bin Laden and the September 11th attacks in such a way. However, the ex-POTUS simply cannot get over his jealousy of Barack Obama and arguing that he had the better military operation under his belt is yet another way for him to go after his predecessor. Minimizing the tragedy of the September 11th attacks is not a new thing for Trump, who on that very day bragged about his building becoming the tallest in Lower Manhattan with the twin towers no longer standing. If a Democrat spoke this way, conservatives would be furious but since it’s Trump, these right-wingers don’t mind and in fact are willing to play into his delusions.
