In the midst of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Donald Trump is asking Vladimir Putin to provide dirt on Hunter Biden. Trump appeared on Real America’s Voice for an interview and alleged that the wife of Moscow’s late mayor Yury Luzhkov gave Joe Biden’s son Hunter $3.5 million and he wanted to know more about it. The former president said, “she gave him $3.5 million so now I would think Putin would know the answer to that. I think he should release it. I think we should know that answer.” This is of course not the first time that Trump has asked Putin to do him a political favor. During the 2016 presidential race, Trump asked the Russian president to release missing emails from Hillary Clinton’s private server. He said, “Russia if you’re listening, I hope you’re able to find the 30,000 emails that are missing. I think you will probably be rewarded mightily by our press.” This tactic has worked for Trump before and his supporters didn’t care he was cozying up with a dictator then, so he’s willing to do it again even as Putin is in the middle of committing atrocities while illegally invading a sovereign country.
