Free Speech TV speaks with Leonard N. Moore, the George Littlefield Professor of American History at UT Austin about the problem with Critical Race Theory.
The teaching of race and history in public schools has become the latest culture war in the US. Republican-controlled state legislatures have led the charge, and 9 states have passed legislation banning the teaching of critical race theory. Nearly 20 additional states have introduced or plan to introduce similar bans.
Leonard N. Moore, the George Littlefield Professor of American History at UT Austin, asks why is the teaching of Black history so controversial? In his latest book Teaching Black History to White People, Dr. Moore says every white person in America should be required to take a Black history class in either high school or college. He joins us today to talk about his own experience of 25 years teaching Black history.
