It’s been brought to light that Sean Hannity fed Kayleigh McEnany talking points following the January 6th Capitol riots. The January 6th committee released text messages between Hannity and McEnany from the day after the attacks. The Fox host sent the then-White House Press Secretary a plan to deal with Donald Trump. There were five bullet points in this “playbook.” Hannity recommended that McEnany tell the then-president to cut out the “stolen election” talk and to recognize that he did run the risk of being impeached or removed from office via the 25th Amendment.
The letter didn’t reveal the other bullet points from the conversation. McEnany responded, “love that. Thank you. That is the playbook. I will help reinforce.” These communications go to show that both Hannity and McEnany did recognize the severity of what took place the day before. But also that there really was no accountability between Fox News and the previous administration as the two parties worked hand in hand.
