Mike Pence fired back against Donald Trump’s attacks on him in a way that made the ex-president go berserk. Trump has been attacking Pence for refusing to reject the Biden swing state electors from being counted on January 6, 2021. The former vice president apparently reached a boiling point, resulting in the following remarks at The Federalist Society on Friday: “President Trump is wrong. I had no right to overturn the election.
The presidency belongs to the American people and the American people alone. Under the Constitution, I had no right to change the outcome of our election.” It did not take long for a triggered Trump to release the following statement that read in part, “I was right and everyone knows it. If there are fraud or large-scale irregularities, it would have been appropriate to send those votes back to the legislatures to figure it out.”
Trump will obviously never forgive Pence for choosing democracy over him. This means that if Trump does run again in 2024 and wins the Republican nomination, there is very little chance that he’ll be choosing Pence as his running mate.
