Millions of Americans have no senator and no representative. They have no voice, but that could change if these activists can win statehood.
Washington D.C. was supposed to be a place that never needed representation in the house and senate. Overtime the population grew and for a time it seemed statehood was coming. But then the demographics of the population changed and politicians worked to undermine their voice.
Will 2021 be the year that the people of Washington D.C. achieve statehood?
