Matt Gaetz recently appeared on Tucker Carlson’s show in his first appearance on Fox News in a year and claimed he was “vindicated” over the serious allegations against him. It’s been a year since it was announced that Gaetz was being investigated for possible child sex trafficking and prostitution crimes. So far, no charges have come the Florida congressman’s way, but the investigation is still happening, and the process for these types of probes can often take a long time. But Carlson thought it was suspicious that Gaetz still hasn’t been charged with anything, so he invited him back on his primetime program. Gaetz said, “this was an operation to destroy me, harm my family, and hinder my ability to serve my district and the movement I represent in Congress.” Tucker asked the congressman whether he expected to get indicted as part of the investigation, which Gaetz refused to answer directly. These two acted during this interview like the scandal was over when, in reality, it could all just be getting started.
