Huwaida Arraf is a Palestinian American lawyer, co-founder of the International Solidarity Movement, former Chair of the Free Gaza Movement and, until recently, the Palestine and Refugees correspondent for Rising Up With Sonali. We have turned to her routinely over the past 2 decades for her expertise on Israel’s oppression and wars against Palestinians.
Now, the Michigan-based activist and mother of two is running for Congress. Announcing an early bid for the 2022 midterms to represent her state’s southeast region in the House of Representatives, Arraf has begun campaigning--and already faces a smear campaign by Fox News.
