Rudy Giuliani has launched a media tour to discuss the vicious “assault” that was perpetrated against him last week. Giuliani was at a ShopRite store with a group of his supporters when an employee approached him from behind, slapped him on the back, and said “what’s up scumbag?” before walking away. Although the surveillance video shows that Giuliani was completely unscathed by the encounter, he has since claimed that it felt as if he had been “shot” and that he “could have died.” A distraught Giuliani appeared on Newsmax, where host Greg Kelly said “I gotta be honest, it doesn’t look that bad, but I understand that looks can be deceiving.” Amidst a cacophony of really loud engine noises, Giuliani explained that he had been hit so hard that he nearly fell. While we condemn violence against politicians, it’s pretty clear that Rudy is exaggerating here.
