Elon Musk is facing backlash for a recent tweet wherein he said his pronouns are “prosecute/Fauci.” This is the latest example of Musk going down a right-wing rabbit hole and segmenting his supporter base. The tweet received over a million likes on Twitter, leading to arguments that the platform is not as left-wing as some might believe. Musk is also being accused of inciting violence against Dr. Anthony Fauci, who has needed security due to the targeting he has faced over the last couple of years. Musk has also been in the news for threatening to sue Twitter employees who leak confidential information to the press. He has asked staffers to sign a pledge indicating that they understand the potential consequences of leaking information and that Twitter will immediately seek damages if they violate their non-disclosure agreements. Now, there is talk about Musk stepping down as the Twitter CEO to focus on his other businesses, although he would still likely remain the owner of the social media site for the foreseeable future.
