Former Attorney General William Barr and former President Trump have not been on good terms ever since Barr refused to back up Trump’s bogus claims of voter fraud in the 2020 election. In December, Barr told the Associated Press, “to date, we have not seen fraud on a scale that could have effected a different outcome in the election.” The Department of Justice conducted its reviews but ultimately found, as put by Barr “that there was nothing there. It was all bullshit.” Six months after Donald Trump has left office, the former president is still not over Barr’s betrayal. He released a statement last week saying in part, “it’s people in authority like Bill Barr that allow the crazed Radical Left to succeed. He and other RINOs in the Republican Party are being used in order to try to convince people that the election was legitimate when so many incredible facts have now come out to show conclusively that it wasn’t.” Barr was incredibly loyal to Trump from the beginning of his tenure as AG. He ran interference for the former president when the Mueller investigation wrapped up and helped propagate a narrative that Trump was innocent of any wrongdoing. But Barr would not go so far as to fabricate evidence of a stolen election, meaning that Trump had to toss him aside as he was no longer useful and becoming a liability.
