Tucker Carlson has produced a special on masculinity called “The End of Men,” and it’s most notable for promoting a red light therapy known as “testicle tanning.” The special is based on the premise that testosterone rates in men have been decreasing in recent decades and that it’s a trend that urgently needs to be reversed. The promo for the extraordinary featured shirtless men working out, wrestling, milking a cow, and the infamous testicle tanning. Perhaps the most striking aspect of all of this is that Tucker Carlson, who’s not the prototypical “manly” figure, is the one putting this issue front and center. Donald Trump also didn’t match these “macho man” characteristics the right loves to boast about, and yet somehow, two of the leading forces in the Republican Party now are Trump and Carlson.
