The Associate Director for Major Gifts (ADMG) is the top advisor to the Development Director, shaping FSTV’s overall fundraising efforts, with a focus on leading the major gifts program. This position is in the Development Department and reports to the Development Director.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
In coordination with the Development Director, develop broad strategies, goals, and tactics for acquiring, renewing, and upgrading donors.
With the Development Director, align major giving efforts with the other fundraising initiatives.
Develop, implement, and manage FSTV’s major gifts program including establishing short-term and long-term goals, strategies, and tactics; the major gifts program includes mid-level gifts over $1K and major gifts over $10K from individuals and foundations.
Cultivate, research, qualify, and solicit major donor prospects, ultimately securing gifts and upgrades.
Manage a personal portfolio of major donors, while training and supporting other team members with the stewardship and solicitation of donors in their own portfolios.
Manage FSTV’s planned giving initiatives.
Ensure consistency and efficacy of organizational messaging across donor communications.
Oversee the accurate and timely tracking of mid-level and major gifts and the appropriate acknowledgement thereof.
Manage CRM database (Salesforce), wealth screening tools (WealthEngine) and any other data systems for the purpose of identifying, tracking and cultivating mid-level and major donors.
Manage the Donor Relations Coordinator.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Development Director.
Candidate Requirements: The ideal candidate for the Associate Director for Major Gifts position will offer:
Minimum of 5 years of major gifts experience, with a proven track record of cultivating, soliciting for and securing six figure gifts, preferably for a national organization. At least 3 years in a supervisory role.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
Fluency with current and emerging best practices in individual fundraising, with a working knowledge of planned giving.
Proficiency with office technology and information systems (including Word, Excel, Outlook PowerPoint, Google Docs and Sheets). Experience with CRM data management, particularly with Salesforce for Nonprofits, is preferred.
Ability to develop and communicate a programmatic vision and to deliver on objectives through attention to detail, resourcefulness, diligence, and passion.
Strong work ethic, demonstrating personal initiative, responsibility, and a commitment to results.
Strong analytic skills, and ability to apply strategic and creative thinking.
Well-organized, with an ability to prioritize tasks in a changing environment and to meet deadlines consistently.
Excellent ambassadorial, team building, verbal, and written communication skills.
Strong interpersonal skills, maturity, tactfulness, good judgment, and ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

Location: Currently remote (at home) due to COVID-19; Denver, CO when pandemic conditions permit a return to the office. Remote location is negotiable, particularly on the West Coast.
