The Accounting Assistant, a Denver, CO based member of the FSTV Business Office, is  responsible for preparing balance sheets, profit and loss statements and other financial reports,  as well as for analyzing trends, costs, revenues, and financial commitments to predict future  revenues and expenses. This position is in the Business Office and reports to the Controller.  
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 
Prepare and enter asset, liability and capital account entries by compiling and analyzing account information 
Verify, allocate, post and reconcile financial transactions, auditing source documents Record expense and sales transactions into the General Ledger 
Process bi-weekly payroll and reporting 
Execute month-end and year-end close process 
Prepare balance sheet, profit and loss statement and other reports 
Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information Secure financial information by completing weekly database backups Assist the Controller in preparing budgets according to schedule
Assist in the state registration process 
Participate in setting financial standards, and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls 
Participate in internal and external audits to ensure compliance 
Provide input into department’s goal setting process 
Communicate effectively with other departments on behalf of the Business Office Communicate with Controller on work status issues that arise 
Perform other duties as assigned by the Controller.
Candidate Requirements: The ideal candidate for the Accounting Assistant position will offer: Bachelor's degree in area of Accounting or Finance, or 2-4 years of experience in the  field of Accounting 
Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures and principles and GAAP Experience creating financial statements 
Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year end close process 
Excellent accounting software user and administration skills; proficiency in QuickBooks  Online, Stripe, and Salesforce is preferred 
Awareness of business trends and best practices 
Attention to detail, with high level of accuracy; aptitude for numbers and quantitative  skills 
Ability to manage time well and meet deadlines 
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, maturity, tactfulness, good judgment  and ability to handle confidential information with discretion 
Strong work ethic, demonstrating personal initiative, responsibility and a commitment  to excellence
Collegiality and good sense of humor, employing a welcoming, collaborative approach  and a strong team-oriented style 
Ability to work independently, with little supervision

Compensation: $18-19/hour, no benefits 
FLSA Status: Part-Time (~15 hours/week; schedule flexibility within normal business hours, with  manager’s approval); Non-Exempt  
Reports To: Controller. 
Department: Business Office. 
Location: Currently remote (at home) due to COVID-19; future: Denver, CO when pandemic  conditions permit a return to the office. 
Anticipated Start Date: February 1st, 2021.
