There are moments in life where you are put in very awkward situations. Moments you really don’t want to be in, but you somehow find a way to muddle through. Every person reacts to these situations differently. For some, it’s fight or flight, while for others it’s just about getting it over with.
Well, Tina Fey and Amy Poehler were just put into one of these awkward situations, and both of them handled it very differently from one another.
While on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Tina Fey was telling a story about how Lorne Michaels tricked her into going to the Adele concert. Although, who in their right mind would need to be fooled into going to see Adele? But that is neither here nor there. Fey apparently was led to believe that she was going to be part of the show just as Jimmy Fallon was, but when she got there she was just led to her seat next to Amy Poehler. And who is she in front of? None other than Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump.
Fey, being polite, and explaining to Fallon that she and Trump share the same baby nurse, was very kind to Trump and said hello. Although secretly she said she was thinking, “you leave the Mexican people alone!”
Poehler, on the other hand, who recently had her hair dyed red, slouched in her seat and motioned to Fey for her not to acknowledge that she was there. Trump hadn’t recognized her and she wasn’t about to purposefully interact with him.
Both of these reactions are perfectly normal. While Fey was polite and interacted in a very “fight” manner, Poehler ignored him completely which is very much “flight.” Either way, both ladies wanted absolutely nothing to do with Trump, and hopefully the rest of America feels the same way.
