2021 marks the 100th anniversary of the Greenwood Massacre, or the Tulsa Race Massacre, when a white mob killed as many as 300 people in “Black Wall Street”, a thriving African American middle class community and business district. The community is still fighting for full accountability and reparations for the deadliest and most destructive massacre in the country’s history. Kristi Williams is one of the community organizers campaigning for justice. She chairs the Greater Tulsa African American Affairs Commission and is a member of the committee overseeing the city’s search for mass graves from the massacre.
FSTV’s Just Solutions features inspiring conversations with activists, community leaders, and others working to make our world a better place. We discuss the many challenges we are facing, while exploring the solutions emerging from the grassroots.
