Thousands of people attended the annual March for Science this past weekend in Los Angeles. The first such march, which took place in the wake of Donald Trump's inauguration as President, was a concrete symbol of how scientists are getting political.
The President and his party's attacks on science and evidence-based policies to protect human and planetary health, have prompted such street demonstrations.
Today as part of our on-going series Rising Up In the Streets, we'll turn to our field-correspondent Nic Cha Kim who was at the 2018 March for Science and filed this report. Among the people he spoke to was California Senate protempore Kevin de Leon.
