The Iraq War that the George W. Bush administration pushed America into a little over a decade ago was a complete debacle. The Republicans in DC could not have gotten it more wrong, and none of the administration’s high-ranking officials have taken responsibility for the mess.
The Obama Administration has been working on negotiations regarding Iran’s nuclear program, and the GOP has not missed any opportunity to undermine the talks. First, House Speaker John Boehner (OH) invited Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to speak before Congress, without first discussing it with the White House. Then Sen. Tom Cotton (AR) sent a letter, signed by 46 of his Republican colleagues, to Iranian leaders.
And now that a tentative agreement has been reached, the GOP is already calling it a “bad deal.”
Watch this video from Brave New Films, showing the parallels between the GOP’s behavior before the Iraq war and their current behavior regarding Iraq.
