Rank choice voting is a voting method where you choose your main candidate. Then, you rank others on the ballot in second, third and so on in order.
Drew Penrose from Fair Vote joined the program to explain exactly how rank choice voting works.
A form of proportional representation, rank choice voting was enacted in November 2019 in New York to use citywide. It is used across the US including parts of California, Maine, New Mexico, Utah, Minnesota, and others.
