We now turn to a deeper look at the immigration laws in Germany and the European Union. According to the UN’s Refugee Agency, there are more than half a million refugees in Germany. About 60,000 of those are seeking asylum. But it’s a process that can last years and in the meantime, legal advocates say conditions for refugees -- in terms of access to employment, aid and education -- are poor.
