Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley spoke at CPAC over the weekend and got an unfavorable response to her suggestion that candidates for political office over 75 should have to take a cognitive test. When Haley suggested the test at CPAC, the crowd, which was very pro-Trump, went silent. Only one person clapped when she specifically mentioned that this would apply to Joe Biden, who is 80. It’s clear that most in the crowd understood the message that this would also apply to Donald Trump, as he’s currently 76. So far, Haley's campaign against Trump has been centered around her being younger, a minority, and a woman, and this test idea is one of the very few policy measures Haley has introduced as part of her campaign. This embarrassing moment is a reminder that this is Trump's party, despite other candidates like Nikki Haley and Vivek Ramaswamy also getting into the race.
