Alex Jones’ Infowars has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in the face of multiple defamation lawsuits against the media company. Jones has been found liable for suits dealing with family members of the 2012 Sandy Hook shooting victims. Using bankruptcy would allow Infowars to hold all civil cases while finding a way to remain operational. The company has estimated its total assets at $0 to $50,000 and its liabilities at $1 million to $10 million. These numbers certainly don’t appear to be in keeping with the $165 million they’ve had in revenue over the past three years. Some suspect this is a fraudulent bankruptcy, and that money has been moved around in an effort to make Jones and the company immune from lawsuits. While we can’t know for sure what is going on, there seems to be something seriously fishy going on with this move towards bankruptcy.
