The most destructive fire in Colorado history was fueled by strong winds and dry vegetation, a result of severe drought. Our guest is environmental journalist Michael Kodas, author of the book Megafire, The Race To Extinguish A Deadly Epidemic Of Flame, says wildfires are now a year-round threat in the American west, and they’re becoming more intense.
