Action Update: Greenpeace
Help Stop Global Warming: In this "Action Update," environmentalists take on Big Oil. Greenpeace claims it has uncovered an oil industry plan to undermine U.S. climate legislation using corporate funded "astroturf" campaigns. It is calling for citizens to pressure elected representatives and urge them to support strong, science-based climate policy. Go to the Greenpeace website, www.greenpeace.org, to find out how you can get involved.

Oil
So many of the products we use in our lifetimes are created by oil. Oil really is the engine that keeps the world humming along. So, why do the "greenies" hate oil and oil companies? It seems to me that whenever large consumer producers make a profit, everyone assumes these companies cheated some how to make that profit. Therefore, groups of people like the greenies do not like insurance companies, large banks, auto manufacturers, and oil companies. Who do they trust? A few years back these same people cussed at some large car maker for generating $8 billion dollars in profit for one quarter. However, when that same company lost over $8 billion dollars in a subsequent later quarter, no one said a word. Oil drives the products of the world, and capitalism creates the profits that do so much for so many all over the world.
