What would a fairer more progressive tax and budget system look like? And why is there so much resistance to reforming tax policy in the United States? Today, New York State Senator Eric Schneiderman, New York State Assemblyman Darryl Towns, Nathan Newman Executive Director of Progressive States Network, and Washington State Senator Jeanne Kohl-Welles on state efforts to raise taxes on those who earn the most.From fair tax policy to a fair workplace. In 2001, as worker collectives in Argentina moved to take control of their factories, Lavaca, an editorial and activist collective, decided to chronicle their experiences. Their work has been collected in a new book, Sin Patron: Stories From Argentina’s Worker-Run Factories. Last week we sat down with two of the workers whose stories are captured in the book. This weeks got docs is Pray the Devil Back to Hell a film that tells the story of Liberian women who came together to end civil war in their country.
