Free Speech TV is currently hiring for the following position:
Development Assistant
Free Speech TV is a progressive non-profit television network available in over 25 million homes nationwide. The network broadcasts news programs like Democracy Now!, independently produced documentaries, and serial programs promoting social, economic, environmental and racial justice. Working with activists and artists, Free Speech TV uses electronic media to cultivate an informed and active populace to advance progressive social change. The network is headquartered in Denver, Colorado.
Job Description:
The Development Assistant provides general administrative support needed to carry out fundraising and outreach plans and initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Update and maintain donor Raiser's Edge database, including entering data, processing donations, generating acknowledgments, and Raiser's Edge/Net Solutions financial reports.
- Assist with planning and implementation of special events including community screenings, house parties, and community outreach initiatives.
- General office duties and projects to support FSTV's Development and Member Services departments.
- Assist with FSTV pledge drive production including answering phone calls, recording donations and pledges, and premium fulfillment.
Job Qualifications:
- Prior non-profit development and fundraising experience required.
- Raiser's Edge or other donor database experience required.
- Meeting and event planning experience preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work collegially with other staff and partners to achieve common objectives.
- A passion for independent media and social justice, as well as a familiarity with current social, political, cultural, and environmental issues.
