China is different...uh, huh: a culture needs resources, it over-exploits those locally available and looks for them less locally, over exploits those to the 'chagrin' of the locals assimilated, usurped or destroyed; now it looks less locally. In the process of adventurous exploitation it identifies those assimilated, usurped or destroyed as less powerful, less cultural, less important, backward, worthless... I only describe the attitudes of every past civilization on earth: USA against African and North American Natives; Australia against its Natives; England, France, Nederlands against African and Asian and Oceanic Natives; Spain against South American Natives; Portugal against African and Asian Natives; Germanic/Frankish tribes against the Romans; Romans against the Europe and the Mediterraneans... How far back should I go? The Han-isation of Chinese controlled territory and its economic allies elswhere is no different... Racism, why not? It worked and still works in the US, Europe and any country you care to mention. Culture: We probably eat as many soybeans cole crops, etc as they; they have their literature, we have ours; we have our technology and have given it to them: just like the USA usurped British tech 1-200 years ago, and Europe usurped Roman, and Roman usurped Greek and Levantine tech. Hierarchy works fine too. Go to work an exert your Magna Carta, US Bill of Rights, or Droit d'Homme, Okay, so you get a sixth of your life to watch television and pay your ISP for online advertising and catalogs, don't be silly, consumerism isn't freedom. Religion? Mine is always better than yours, even if I have none. What is so different? The language? Mine is better than yours, so what. Grow up people, China will take over, it has more people and money to throw at us (what ever the competition) than we at them, plus we're afraid to die (except virtually). But different? I think not. Maybe we should analyze ourselves, see what we did, to avoid the fate we delivered on our vanquished. Those who forget the past are condemned to repeat it. It may be western civilization's turn to repeat it.

This interview affirms my belief that the only thing that will save the people is the people. And, the only way the people can save themselves is by withholding as much of our sweat, energy, and money from the Military/Industrial Complex. WE are the batteries that keep this system going. Only WE have the power to unplug ourselves (as much as possible) from the system and create local communities in which to plug ourselves into. WE need to create new ways of living that supports small, local, healthy, and sustainable economies. There are groups out there that have been working on this for years: the sustainability movement, the permaculture movement, the transition towns movement, and other movements whose aim is to remove as much of our life energy from this system that is killing us. Great piece! Now, you need a follow-up on the solutions.

The owner of the house where I'm currently living, in Rocklin, CA, recently switched from a local cable company (which isn't carrying FSTV) to Dish Network, and I was pleasantly surprised to find FSTV as I flipped between channels. I'd heard of FSTV by listening to some of Amy Goodman's programs on radio, but this was the first time I'd had the chance to see it on TV. Now I watch it almost every day, and record some of its programs on DVR when I can't, for later viewing. You have an excellent series of programs, and I appreciate your repeating some of them later in the day after their first broadcast of the day. I notice that the video quality of most of the programs is not broadcast quality--many of the programs appear to be digitally compressed, with important detail data removed. Sometimes the contrast is too low, and sometimes it's too high, giving an over-exposed look. Some programs look like every other frame has been removed, producing a jerky effect. All of this makes many of the programs look like low-fi YouTube videos. This produces a cheap effect overall. Is there an insurmountable reason for this? If not, I think you might get more viewers if you upped the video quality as close to normal as you can.

I hope some Progressive member of Congress will think ahead to foster legislation to promote and support medical students to go into the primary care field! We love ya Senator Sanders! Keep on ranting!

I should find this appalling.(the dehumanization, not the meeting) However, after taking courses to better understand both the holocaust and vietnam I believe the human race owes itself to watch videos like this. And people must realize the evil that comes from becoming apathetic as a society. Patriotism is the belief that your country is superior because you were born in it. Realize that everyone on this planet is a human being and treat them that way. To those who have spoken before me, both of you simply appall me. Race is simply a dividing factor. Stop letting race divide us as people. Stop letting class divide us as people. And stop allowing media and governments decide what we believe as truths, for the betterment of the human race.

Hi Donna: I was looking for Native American sites, a while back and I found the Lakota Republic. I don't know what area you are in, but they may still have some good info and links for you. I had read about a swindle that some of the Lakotas suffered, not long ago, over their grain crops and I don't know if there was ever much done, to the manager who was handling the sales. From what I understand, he set up bogus accounts, that he recorded sales to and showed these accounts, as unpaid, while actual purchases were hidden and the proceeds paid to an account he had set up. This guy, needs to be escorted to an ant hill. Native people in many areas of the world, are suffering, mainly because of greed and the lust for power, in high places. There is far more resources on this planet, than we will ever need, if they are properly utilized and shared. More than that, there are resources available, that we do not yet know of. The power of discovery, is the power that can turn our world around and I have been contacting every person and group I can, to collaborate and support a youth science and film project, that I am certain, will lead to just such a discovery. The finished film, would only be sent on tour, to raise funding for new youth enterprises, mainly in the interlinked areas of humanitarian outreach, youth-owned charter sailboats and honey bee propagation and preservation projects. Youths who participate, would be encouraged to help provide shared recreation for the Handicapped, while engaging their new enterprises. The world has been waiting a long time, for real hope and I have to wonder, how much longer, can we afford to wait. From everything I have gathered about this potential discovery, it was meant to be a gift to humanity, when we could come together and gain the understanding, to seek it out. I have found supportive evidence, from many cultures, times and peoples, so non can claim it, as their own, nor can I, make any claim to it, except for the sovereign right, to make use of it, if I choose. For this alone, I would volunteer as a galley slave, on this expedition. I have only gathered a small group, but we already have a former 100 ton captain, who is willing to re-license, now that he is recovering from hip surgery. A chef, is signed on, as well as two welders, a carpenter and hopefully, two grandparents. I am certain of massive growth and support, as soon as we can acquire our research vessel, which will also serve as a Mothership, for the youth charter boats. I have had positive response, from the Sea Scouts, with the assured interest of youths who have aged out, but would like to continue with a sailing experience. Two captains were also mentioned, that are well qualified, to handle this vessel. If you are interested in seeing this work accomplished, maybe you can help inspire Free Speech, to do an article about these projects. They have my contact info.
